A Canon full frame digital (the 5D and 5D II being the cheapest
variants) is the only camera where OM lenses can be easily adapted and
the lens can use its full image circle. OM lenses are also easily
adapted to any 4/3 or micro 4/3 body (Olympus, Panasonic) but these
sensors are small relative to a full 35mm size frame (13.0x17.3mm vs
24x36mm).

Pixel density is also very high on 4/3 sensors. For example, the E-620
has 5.1 MP/cm². The 5D (which has roughly the same pixel count) has 1.5
MP/cm² while the 5D II at 21MP still has only 2.4 MP/cm². A hypthetical
5D III would have 45MP if it had the same pixel density as the current
crop of 12MP 4/3 bodies.

All of this is only to point out that it takes a very sharp lens to make
use of all of the pixels on a 4/3 sensor. On the other hand, a 4/3
sensor is only making use of the center sweet spot on any 35mm lens so
the resolution task is somewhat simplified.

Nikon and Sony are the only other makers of full frame digital bodies.
Neither are suitable for easy adaptation of OM lenses but a Canon can
easily accept Nikon lenses as well as several other brands. Cheaper
Canon bodies (those with less than full frame sensors) can also easily
adapt OM lenses. Frame coverage would be slightly larger (1.6X crop)
than 4/3 cameras (2X crop).
