For what it's worth, the Duracell "precharged" NiMh batteries with the white
tops
are supposed to be rebranded Sanyo Eneloops and are usually cheaper. I bought
bunches when they went on sale 4/8.99 in Canada last year at Shoppers' Drug
Mart. I think it was a pricing mistake. They are usually ~4/16.99 or so.
These "precharged" NiMh's self discharge much much slower than other NiMhs.
I too have a Lacrosse BC-700 and recommend it.
You are best off to use the sets of batteries where all get the same usage,
i.e.,
same device, so they age together. Otherwise weak batteries, when exhausted,
get destroyed by the reverse voltage the other batteries are still delivering.
