The mile is no problem per se, neither are other units.
The main problem WAS not being fully decimal.
Yet computer and pocket calculators may have changed the stakes these days.
BTW: Why is it that the dollar was decimal (from the start?) and the pound not
(until De Gaulle insisted on it)?
