David, welcome aboard. "MD" means Motor Drive-capable. All but the
earliest OM-1s and OM-2s are MD. The motor drive cap is often hard to come
by. I expect other posters will offer suggestions on where you can
currently obtain the cap alone. My standard advice is to check the cap
storage slot inside the battery compartment of any Winder 1 or 2 you find in
a used camera store, camera show, or pawn shop. At least half the time,
there is a forgotten cap stowed there. Either palm the cap (grin) or buy
the Winder to get the cap. The Winder is nice to have. I paid $40 for the
last one (admittedly, cosmetically ugly) I got at a camera show. They are
usually about $80-100. You need a cap or a piece of black plastic tape (or
a winder) on the motor drive port to prevent minor film fogging.

Now that I think of it, if you ordered the camera sight unseen, and the
seller failed to tell you beforehand that the cover was missing, you ought
to be due a partial refund.
