Tony,
I have a 50mm 1.4 lens I have had since 1974. It is relatively low in
contrast compared to the MC version you have. I also have an MC version
that has very light cleaning marks on the front element. That also makes
that lens have lower contrast.
I would be glad to trade you even either of my lenses for your lens.
