Saw one! Held one!
When I worked for P&B, one of my dealers in Cleveland had a salesman that
just knew he could convince a good customer to buy the 1000mm Zuiko. The
salesman was so convinced the customer wanted to buy the lens that he
persuaded his boss to order the lens.
Needless to say, a few months later, the lens was still in the store and the
salesman barely had his job. I was even asked to have lunch with the
salesman and his customer so I might persuade the customer to buy the Zuiko
rather than a new-at-the-time Tamron 500mm mirror.

Sadly for the salesman, the customer bought the Tamron and I thought he made
the right decision. That 1000 is a damn big lens and slow to focus. Rack
and pinion, ugh!
