To get a "correct" exposure onto the film, if you were metering Caucasian 
skin you need to remember that proper exposure is +1 from middle gray. You 
could set your exposure compensation dial to +1 and set your viewfinder meter 
for a balanced exposure, or leave the exposure compensation at 0 and adjust 
your exposure in the viewfinder to +1. I agree with Mickey's prior response 
about the automatic printer, though: due to the wide exposure latitude of 
today's print films, you should be able to get a good print even if you 
underexposed by a stop if you have the shots reprinted with the proper 
attention to your primary subjects. With slides, you really need to use the 
+1 compensation.
