[OM] Stereo? was Fang of the Millenium!

Stereo? I've heard that term bandied about in the
context of sound, but not camera equipment. What would
a stereo shot do that a normal couldn't. I am a bit
mysified here, if you could explain. Thank you for
your time. 
Also the Zuiko Shift only shifts, you would have to
get a C*n*n lens which is tilts as well, but Ive seen
those lenses and unlike the Zuiko which has nice
controls and compact design that 24mm lens is ultra
bulky and is nearly impossible to control which
restricts it to a tripod IMHO. Overall C*n*n had a
nice idea trying to fit all the amenities of large
format in 35mm but this lens is sloppy in both tilt an
shift whereas the Zuiko is well built except for the
lack of a good lenshood 
(they compensated well though with lots of ED, LD
whatever glass that seems to cut out flare
dramatically, the only shots I've had with any real
flare were RIGHT into the sun and I shoulda known
better; They still looked pretty cool though with all
those multicolered hexagons :)
