Fair point.  Why don't you try the lens with the motor drive before you do
it for real?  If the focussing mount is reasonably stiff, you probably won't
have any problem, but there's no harm in checking first.

If you use a lens like this one, I think there would be a risk. Of course, I
can't say how much of the vibration is motor, how much is shutter opening
then closing 1/1000 sec later, but if the circumstances don't require a
motor, I wouldn't use it.  If you are using bulb then you surely don't need
5 fps, yes?

I would *not* use a Motor Drive if it is unnecessary.

I was amazed to see that the focussing on my 50/1.4 is so smooth that with
MD running an OM1 (with mirror locked up) the vibration was enough to move
focussing point from infinity to about 20 meters within three frames.
