That's inspiring Walt.
I'd have merely retaliated, with neighborhood consent, by playing
something they're guaranteed not to like very loud at them starting
at 5am.
Best retaliation story I heard concerned a journalist who got home at
around 2;30am after putting the paper to bed. A newish neighbor had a
fowl house with rooster right on the fenceline and foghorn fired up
at 5am in the summer, for an hour or so. Rather than adopt the Wayman
approach (the local constabulary frown on the discharge of firearms
in built-up areas rather vigorously) and failing in the task of
reasoning with the owner (go f*** yerself) he got himself a hunting
spotlight and car battery and when he got home he fired it into the
chookhouse, triggering the fowl response. The owner got the message
and the rooster went.
On the other hand, an elderly pensioner did get so enraged by exactly
this problem that he went over and shot the 'musical' perp
non-fatally - which is unusual enough in Oz for it to have made all
the papers. He's a local hero I believe. Haven't been out here on
holiday have you mate?
