I believe that there are those out there who really crow about the Foveon
and I've read what they have to say. Even my engineer is abuzzed with it. I
would say that technically - on paper at least - the Foveon is a very
exciting design and it promises a lot. Like you, I have also read about
those who thought otherwise and I guess that is where the practical
execution in the real world isn't so great. You're right; if Foveon was that
fantastic, Sigma's D14 (or whatever it is called now) would have been on the
market a lot sooner but I honestly don't know the company's roadmap or
strategy - haven't made much study on the company and Olympus didn't have
much to do with them until the Four-Thirds Group was established.
