I sent Ian a second message saying that I wasn't bothered about the main
battery pack as it will run from the mains, it was the two small
internal ones. I was a bit lazy and sent the email off before checking
the label as IBM have quite clearly labelled the two one is a commomn
cr2032 and some further googling discovered an equivalent spec battery
with a different shape which maybe will fit in ok.
Too be honest though I don't really have much time to play with it and
although it was a 10000 dollar machine in its day (although I only paid
1000 dollars from IBM as they sold the last batch and got it pimped by
IBM where I was working at the time) its probably not worth the effort
as it can't run anything after aix 4.2.1 and the work systems I support
are now 5 and 6.
Thanks Ian for the extra information and yes the batteries have leaked a
bit, I used gloves but I hate messing with chemicals - mainly because I
don't know which ones are good and which bad.
