We don't have any crocs around here (that I know of) but within the past
couple of months three small gators have shown up in the Susquehanna
River within about 5 miles of where I live in upstate New York. A
little guy/gal about a foot long was captured (hooked by a boy fishing)
and two others (about 2 and 3 feet long) have been spotted in different
areas. Obviously, someone decided they didn't want their illegal gators
any more. Too bad. There's a local guy who is licensed by New York to
own gators for educational purposes who would have been glad to take
them and he did get the yearling. As it is the older ones certainly
won't survive the New York Winter. Some of them didn't survive
Florida's last winter.
