Consider the possibility that you are currently misunderstanding the operative
dynamic of this community - at at least
two levels.

For me, and I believe for many others here, the operative interest, aside from
all the techie stuff, is the image
itself, not the means by which it was produced. When I read a book, I generally
don't know, or care, whether it was
written in pencil on a pad of cheap newsprint while sitting under a tree, on
vellum with a dip pen in a dank basement by
the light of a guttering candle, on a beloved old Olivetti portable or on a
computer keyboard.

Likewise, although I am interested in the experience of others with various
tools to capture and display their images,
it is finally the images that matter - at least to me.

Second, many of us find this list to be a sympathetic community of others with
some similarity of interests, and which
has become a community of friends. In that way, we are happy to hear from our
friends, to know they are well, or in what
way they may be ill, what is happening in their lives not only
photographically, but in other areas. Sharing our
photographs and our words is a small way of sharing ourselves.

You know, if I were a therapist ... It's true on an important level that
everything I imagine to be true of others is
projection of my own, unconscious psychic material. What might it mean if I
were to project onto a community of friends
a disapproval of my way of expressing myself through art? ;-)

PS: I am, in fact, quite happy to hear from you, and am looking forward to
seeing some new images you have created.
