Hi Moose,
The setting was at -.7, my usual choice. But, in varying the EV both plus
and minus, I discovered that, while I could change the outcome, nothing
worked right. I then found that, if I set EV to Zero, things seemed to work
normally. I changed to the ZD 14-54 and set P Mode for fully automatic
control, and got good exposures.
I'm beginning to think that there is something awry in the EV circuitry.
Apparently, by choosing "0", I am taking that out of play, and things work
right.
Thanks for the clue, and I am still open to suggestions.
