Dear Brian:

There have been two problem auctions - virtually back to back - on my
eBay recent auctions. Here in Arkansas we have recently been experiencing
the worst Snow and ICE STORMS in recorded history. Without access to
electrical power or phone service for over two weeks now - 'inquiries /
questions' (things in general) have just been hard if not impossible to
respond to.

    # 1, A camera (OM-2s) was damaged in shipment (broken mirror - as
evidenced by the crushed and punctured box I received back from the
Buyer ) - which is the first shipment damage that I have encountered out of
well over 200 shipments. I think the Postal Service just had an accident
during the Christmas season. Without the Buyer's address and access to my
computerized 'records' this incident was impossible to correct. As phone
service was restored only Saturday evening at 6 p.m., I have emailed the
purchaser that I will refund all her money effective today, the first day
that the Post Office is open to do so. She was mad at me in her emails -
received only yesterday (Sunday) simply because of the fact that I was not
responding to her emails - which was impossible to do!

    # 2, A 35mm f/2.8 lens was sold without enough close scrutiny for
$30.00 and I said in the ad that I "Used this Lens daily" - which I do use
the same "type lens" just not the same Lens - never used that lens and sold
it for a price based on it's physical appearance not it's optical condition.
I sold it as is and am refunding the Buyer's money as well as the shipping
costs (which is my 'Normal' practice) on return of the lens. I have
purchased many items from this gentleman and am surprised at his activity
towards me! Not a good practice in my opinion.

There is a third auction in which I described a lens as MINT / NEW in
which a 200mm f/4 lens was shipped in error and was less than MINT or NEW.
I sent the correct lens (MINT - no blemish, mark etc. and still with the
original 'Passed' sticker on it) and this Buyer (a DR. in California)
subsequently refused this lens after three weeks of usage - and returned a
different lens, even 'dented', and most certainly not the one that I shipped
to him (which was a perfect MINT/NEW 200mm f/4 Lens) and is simply trying to
get to me - I am returning "HIS" 'DOG' lens this morning.

My reputation, as evidenced by my numerous 'feedback' comments should
speak for itself. Evidentially it does not! LOL! Anyway, I think that the
inability to respond in a timely manner (due to the 'Freak' weather
conditions here in Arkansas) is the key to all of this and although I am
sorry for the inconveniences, I am certain all will work out. I am an
Honest Buyer and Seller, much unlike many, many others on eBay! Please - if
you are interested in any of my items for sale, understand that all comes
with a Satisfaction Guaranteed - Money Back - Warranty. I only want "HAPPY"
business transactions.

Some problems were in effect my fault, some weren't! It's as simple as
that. However, I do accept full responsibility for my Sales or Purchases.
We are dealing with items here that aren't available through any other
source other than eBay and similar auction sales arenas. One misused word
can upset someone and create a negative reaction. I treat others like I
want to be treated, which is, honestly.

I sincerely hope that you 'post' this letter where ever you communicate
with others - as this is 'my side' of the recent activities. I do not take
part in such activities as this is not a business, just a hobby. I have,
use and maintain a very nice collection of Olympus photographic equipment.
Additionally, from time to time I offer some items for sale, out of this
collection, that are either un-needed or duplications. I have been using
Olympus equipment for over 25 years and understand the complexities of the
system and it's users and followers. I wish them all well! I have been on
eBay only since September and have somehow accumulated a NICE feedback
record in that short period of time. I don't expect it to continue forever,
as there are a few 'bad' apples in every barrel. You'd be surprised how
many eBayers are simply 'jealous' of what others have and do!

Kindest regards,
Rex H. Graham

P.S. Thank you for your interest. It actually did me good to respond to
someone that is truly interested, not just creating more problems in the
background - 'talking behind other's backs'. By the way, that OM-2n with
the recorddataback 3 is an excellent camera, personally used by me, an extra
now, and if you wish to purchase it, I'll make you one 'heck of a deal' to
show you, and all you communicate with, that I am a serious 'keeper of the
Olympus Faith' !! If you don't wish to purchase it - that's fine, also!
It will eventually sell, and the people that you are talking with
'somewhere' - wherever that is - will still talk as they really don't have
very much else to do.
