items.  Sometimes you get lucky with small packages.  There is no VAT on
books.

Sorry, don't know.  Telephone Customs & Excise - they can tell you.

The carrier will not hand over the package until you pay.  You will also
have to pay their handling charge.

Yes.  They should complete a Customs declaration form that is attached to
the parcel.  This includes a description and value.
