Got over the "lens cap on" error early in my photo training (USAF Photo School).
We were issued  ten sheets of film per assignment @ a max of 10 points each.
"Lens cap on"  =  blank = 0 points; 3  lens caps on errors = failing grade =
weekend duty cleaning the lab. You tend to learn rather quickly.

Love my OM's, but there's nothing quite like the feel of using a a precision
rangefinder. Nikon SP's, Leicas, and even my thrifty old  favorite the Olympus
35SP.
