Fine advice to a list member, but pity the poor innocents who are
stuck in there without a support / reality mechanism to fall back
on. The course should be about using what you have, not aquiring to
please the instructor. Any photo instructor who doesn't understand
this should not be employed. By all means let him join a group like
this and debate the issues he has, but in that forum? Just childish.

What may even be more difficult is that when this instructor reviews
images for grade he may not be able to see a good image if it is from
the wrong camera. The students will just have to learn to steer
questions to photography rather than the equipment.
