When photographing birds with a remote camera, there is one universal truth.
At least one bird will try to shit on the camera. Some are very accurate.

Not usually. In fact, particularly with birds, flash doesn't even scare
them away. They may freeze for a moment with a birdy "What the **** was
that?" expression, but then they'll go right back to whatever they were
doing.
