Yes you are being too harsh. The lens is intact and will hold down a small
pile of papers in a modest wind. If your intent was to take pictures with it
then you have a problem.
You will find evilbay and PayBud are no help- it boils down to - he sent you
something and they couldn't be there to witness its arrival.
What does the seller say?
Any chance of a refund?
Did you pay with Visa? If you did call their support line and reverse the
charge. They also have the same-you received it BUT you can just claim
unauthorized as the lens was not what was advertized.It is fraud - it is
called bait and switch, that is how I won my case, if you want the letter as
a guide let me know. Save and document everything- make a copy of the ebay
site etc. and all correspondence. If you paid cash and the seller wants to
stiff you, then if after pointing out how many witnesses there are to his
little scam etc.to him doesn't work- negative feedback is your last resort,
and you must be prepared for the retaliatory neg. that the seller will do. I
wear my one neg. from Breitling as a badge of honor, by the way he has
disappeared into the woodwork, not a word since the '500 witnesses' letter.
