I've tried the E-thing with a Tamron 400/4 + OM 1.4x teleconverter. I was
quite happy with the results. 8^)

My son's graduation ceremony at UCSB had several thousand people in
attendance. I got there early enough to find a position on top of a small
hill. I had a good enough vantage point that I picked him out of the see of
humanity then phoned him. The "diplomas" were handed to the graduates when
they went to the front and met the chancellor(? IRRC), in a large open tent
which provided shade. The E-thing had no trouble going from bright sun to
fairly deep shade.

I use the E-thing for wide angles much more than for tele. The 50-200
f2.8-3.5 D.Zuiko is only a little smaller and lighter than the Tamron 80-200
f2.8 but I haven't used them enough to know if one is better than the other.
