Ok, I'll bite. Our holidays were suprisingly low-key. Due to
work schedules we were unable to travel out-of-state, so I
missed a bit of a family reunion, but this coming weekend we'll
be getting together with my inlaws. Everything will be fine,
just don't eat the food. :(

Christmas Eve was rather busy, my wife was hired many months ago
to be the guest/fill-in musician at a church here in town for
the holidays. It's a totally different breed of church than what
we normally are affiliated with and it had a really nice pipe
organ and georgous Steinway piano. Ends up, that the evening
candlelight service was absolutely packed. Nearly standing room
only. The Steinway was tuned and the organ was recently
maintained and cleaned. What lovely tones and sound! Rather
fun. I even got to take pictures of the event for the church.
Well, she was as nervous as a cat riding a pony, but survived.
One particular song she does is highly unique and makes the
piano sound like chimes. The Steinway just sparkled on those
notes and it almost brought a tear to the eye.

Christmas day was spent lounging around the house. We opened
presents with the girls around breakfast, but our "computer"
gifts to each other were already on-line and in use. A very
relaxing day. I roasted a turkey and managed to get it as moist
and tender as ever. Very tasty.

It's been a good year. During 2006 I hosted a workshop on Isle
Royale which was not only successful, but also fun. My nerves
were shot getting all the logistics taken care of and I only
lost a few hundred bucks on the deal, so I consider it a roaring
success.

Photographically, the year was a mixed bag. Business was slower
than I wanted--stock sales stunk. Art sales was stronger than
ever, though. Portrait work paid a few bills and weddings were
few. However, the slow wedding work was by choice--the weekend
schedules were hectic with other ventures. I haven't totalled
all the numbers yet, but I think this was my first year where
art sales actually exceeded all other photographic sales
combined. That either means that art sales was good or the
other sales were pretty bad. Probably a mixture of both. My
work schedule during the year was gut-wrench with months of 60+
hour work-weeks.

I am excited about the photographic opportunities in 2007. I
finally have my artistic vision back and am chomping at the bit
to pursue this vision. Also, I'm looking at another
photographic opportunity which may or may not materialize, and
is totally dependent upon other factors.

Happy Holidays and I'm interested in seeing what other people's
photographic goals are for 2007.
