Hmm. Interesting!  I've primarily been using it on the L1 which has a
different response curve than the E-1. I've been noticing something
similar, but was attributing it to the camera.

I concur with that grass/shadow detail in texture thing. I think it
might have to do with better contrasting in low-mids (Zones III-V).
With the 14-54 grass would frequenty turn into a textureless blob like
what you see on HDTV.

Thanks, I'm quite taken with the lens. But I'm also keenly aware that
it's not constructed anywhere near to the same standard as the 14-54
and 12-60 lenses.
