Thanks for the test Moose. I'm working with the super of the local Nat'l Pk on developing trail signage. I think that she'll agree to a test of the QR codes at the trailheads. Apparently QR codes are ubiquitous in Japan and to a lesser extent other countries in Asia. We get a lot of Asian tourists. Many spillovers from BC. so it might be useful for visitors at least. I suspect that many people in the US don't bother with downloading the free QR code reader app since most marketing has been for coupons and ads. I guess I'll put a hit counter on it and see what happens. I ran into the director of the local BLM Nat'l Mon. at a potluck Sun. and she was very supportive even to the point of mentioning potential available $$ !!

As for gps apps Chuck, Gaiagps is very popular for hiking etc. Download an area and go. Yeah it sucks batteries. Good for navigation without gps and for the occasional location check. Long term use get a real gps.
