Hi John:

<< Does this mean I shouldn't trade all my
non-MC lenses in and perhaps should practice more instead? >>

As was already posting in this thread, we should just don lens hoods. Made me
look around and notice that lens hoods seem to be "out." Yikes, what a simple
step to better pictures! But then, as has also been said here recently, the
books on photography are sure dumbed down these days. Plus folks are too busy
for my once a month FREE photography class, which seems to suggest few folks
take the time to learn a craft these days. Or, I'm a lousy teacher!

Ansel was mostly burned out by the early 50's, so I'd say half of his output
was in pre-coated days. Would have been hard to have an overly contrastly neg
in the early days.

I seem to recall a rare picture of Henri Cartier-Bresson. He had a lens hood
on the Leica. A cool square one, to boot. Given his propensity for going
unnoticed, I reckon he'd better trade in that old 50 mm Hektor f/2.5 for a
multicoated Summicron f/2.0 That way he can once again go unnoticed (i.e.,
sans lenshood) versus looking like a pre-war photog.
