Sorry about the abrasive. Guess I get a little irritated when people start
basing their beliefs on "someone said" and "gee, it seems to me" without any
basis in fact. The problem, as seen in this thread, is one person says
something, someone else repeats it, and, soon enough, everyone is quoting it
like scripture. It ain't that way.
You have a fabulous web site. I'm sure you don't allow much conjecture and
speculation on it. That would destroy the integrity of the site. I'm a very
recent subscriber to this list (though a longtime Olympus admirer and an owner
of a fair Oly system - 3 bodies and ~15 lenses). I'm here because photo.rec
is full of misinformation, conjecture, speculation and BS. Hate to see it
here where the subscribers have the sense to chose and use Olympus.
Also, I have this lens. Maybe I'm a little defensive thinking I bought a
Zuiko and then someone is telling me that it aint no Zuiko it might be a
???????
But they can't give scripture and verse.
Anyway, Lee, if you think I don't belong here, say so and I will leave.
I would prefer to stay in the company of similar thinking photographers (Oly
shooters) because I think the emphasis is on control of the final print. One
doesn't aim the camera and push a button while the camera does everything and
sometimes you get a good picture. One does have to think a little more using
Olympus: where to put the focus; exactly what exposure will do justice to the
frame. It's thinking photograph, not "load another roll and hope something
comes out."
But I ramble.
And I will accept my 35-105 as a Zuiko lens.
