Thanks!

But the answer is no. Truth to tell, this was a very casual photo session. I
set up a lounge chair on the edge of the
grass, next to some flowers, as I often do. I brought out Nook, water, almonds
and OM-D/12-50, ready to read, snack,
maybe nap, and take a few shots if something interesting presented itself.

All but the last shot were taken with no more effort than leaning forward in my
chair. I took four bee shots, only one a
real clunker, cause the bee was abuzz, flying. I don't think I used the
viewfinder for any of them. I held my arm out
over the bee/flower and framed by looking at the screen from an angle, so the
bee would be in the middle and AF would
catch it.

With my body not looming over them, the bees seemed unaware of my presence. So
what might seem to be laziness may have
contributed to success. It's part of my program of Creative Indolence.

I think the front of the lens was 6-8" from the bee. The lens will focus much
closer, but I didn't want to scare them
off - and I might have needed to get up. :-)
