Ken, I applaud your thinking.

Far better to make a move of your own choosing, than to have it thrust upon
you as so many of us have. I've watched helplessly, as five employers
disappeared - either folding completely, or absorbed by some larger entity
and parceled out. Note these were not fly-by-night operations, but firmly
established businesses with 30-to-50 years service to their communities.
