Mac, or Windows?

I find digiKam to be unusable on the Mac, very buggy, crashes a lot. They talk
around that by blaming Mac libraries, yet others are able to produce stable
cross-platform software. It is very clear that their development team does not
include Macaholics.

Simple math indicates 100k photos in 40 gigs mean your files need to be under
~400k each. That sorta rules out RAW files, which may or not be a problem for
you.

In the open-source world, I've been playing with darktable, which seems to be
much more stable on the Mac, and it allows me to use a MySQL database, which
means you can easily re-purpose it's data, if you know SQL.

that much more intense. -- Eldridge Cleaver
