I've just been looking over the specs of these two cameras and frankly
don't understand why you want either one of them or why you consider
there's not much difference in the speces. I think there's a huge
difference and don't think that either one is really suitable for the
"commercial" side of your interests rather than the fun side.
I didn't pay much attention to your requirements in a camera until you
mentioned your intention to do studio photography with lights. Granted,
you didn't say flash, but the s6500 has absolutely no provision for
external flash. The S9600 has no PC connection but there are at least
multiple ways to adapt a hot shoe; my favorite being a cheap ebay radio
slave. But the S9600 is clearly playing the megapixels game by stuffing
9MP into a tiny sensor. Blah!
I think you can do better with a used DSLR.
