I bought a used Zuiko 600mm last spring and could not get sharp focus on the
thing at long distances. It appeared to only focus accurately to about 80
feet and then the mechanism ran out of travel. Olympus serviced the lens and
it still had the same problem. I returned it and got my money back. The same
seller has a 600mm on EBAY at this time and I suspect it is the same lens.

There really isn't much more I can tell you about the 600mm. I had the
one I tested checked to see if the optical alignment was OK. It was. I
suspect it would perform better with mirror and diaphragm prefire.
The bad results the first time around had me test a second time. Just as
poor that time, too.

Hmmm.....
I was hoping I just missed something. I wonder how the 600mm compares to
the
auto-focus super-teles from C*n*n or N*k*n? My 300mm/4.5 just isn't
getting
me close enough. Maybe I need to be closer! This is a somewhat rhetorical
question, but what are my options or is the 350/2.8 with a 1.4x converter
the
only option.
I guess that's not a rhetorical questions now!
